Your eyes are one of the first things people notice about you–and even subtle differences in eyelid shape or symmetry can significantly impact facial harmony. Many individuals are bothered by asymmetrical eyelids, irregular creases, or monolids that affect not only their appearance but also their self-confidence.
At her specialty practice in Irvine, Dr. Melanie Ho Erb helps patients from Orange County and Los Angeles address a variety of cosmetic eyelid problems, using advanced surgical and non-surgical techniques to create balanced, natural-looking results.
I love my experience with Dr. Melanie Erb and I would highly recommend her to everyone! From the first day I met her for a consultation to my 3rd post follow up, I received such great care. I came in with uneven eyes that I have been insecure about my whole life and Dr. Erb was completely transparent during my consultation. She said I had congenital ptosis and she cannot promise that it’ll be completely symmetrical after the repair. I decided to go ahead and proceed due to how honest she was and also due to her expertise in the field. The surgery went smoothly and after the surgery I had 3 follow ups because it took awhile for me to heal (1 week for it to stop being swollen, 3 weeks for my bruise to completely go away). Dr. Erb wanted to keep checking up on me until I was completely healed n that just shows how much she truly cares about her patients n work! I cannot be more happy with how my surgery turned out! Thank you!! See pics for before n after!

Common Cosmetic Eyelid Problems
Eyelid shape and symmetry concerns may develop naturally or result from aging, trauma, or prior cosmetic procedures. Some of the most common issues include:
Eyelid Asymmetry
Visible differences in eyelid height, crease position, or shape between the two eyes.
Single Eyelids (Monolids)
A smooth upper eyelid without a defined crease, common among Asian patients.
Irregular Eyelid Creases
Creases that are inconsistent, broken, or uneven from one eye to the other.
Excess Skin or Fat Displacement
That affects the visibility and contour of the eyelid crease.
These concerns may affect your facial proportions and cause one or both eyes to appear smaller, heavier, or less expressive.
